Urkixokoa is a recently built lodge (2018) at the very entrance to the Irati Forest in the heart of the Navarrese Pyrenees, meaning that guests can enjoy all the splendour this part of the world has to offer without the inconvenience of having to move around.

The phrase "a picture is worth a thousand words" takes on a whole new meaning as soon as you arrive in the area surrounding this rural establishment. Not many people can hear the roar of a red deer from the room they are spending the night in during the rutting season!

That’s because you will be staying in the Irati Forest, which, covering 42,450 acres, is known for being the second largest beech forest in Europe, only surpassed by Germany’s Black Forest.

And what to say of the Irabia reservoir? A place with a charm all of its own and, being easily accessible, somewhere which can be enjoyed by young and old alike.

You will be able to visit: the Irabia reservoir, the Royal Arms Factory of Orbaizeta, the Azpegi megalithic site, the Tower of Urkulu, the Cave of Arpea… and countless magical locations in the depths of the Irati Forest.
